A very large company that owns the rights to a very famous 9 part series of science fiction movies, with a number of spin-off movies, TV shows, animations, books, cartoons, plush toys, action figures, theme parks etc. etc. decided on the 27th April 2020 to announce on Twitter that using the hashtag #MayThe4th would assign to them all sorts of rights to reproduce your message in their own promotional materials.
So, I thought it might be nice to use the same mechanism to a) steal your cats, and b) effectively hold them hostage until you pay money to a charity.
Because the Pirate Code of the InterWebz says that is cool right. And there is nothing the immensely litigious media congolmerate that tried to over-reach in this way could ever do about it. I’m not going to link to the media congolmerate as they are very protective of intellectual property, to the point of claiming ownership of other peoples’. Just to keep it safe.

And no, I don’t really own your cat now. Nobody owns a cat. They just live in its house racking up rent arrears to be paid off in the afterlife.
